Creativity: A Necessity

My first official post…It’s kind of a rant, Guys.

creative-quotes-about-life-a-life-creative-61156

I’m all over Instagram. It is like my place for social media. I’m not too great with words (as you will soon learn as you read my many horribly written blog posts) and instagram gives me the perfect place to express myself and let others know whats going on with my and my baby’s life through something other than words.

I am also really into shopping small handmade businesses through instagram. There’s so many different shops and people with amazing ideas and creative products, but for every awesome idea there seems to be a copy. I’m not just talking about two different shops that sell the same style of head wrap or bow tie or what-have-you, I’m talking about everything being the same even down to the choice of fabric. I understand that sometimes it may just be a coincidence, but others, I’m sure, are blatant attempts at copying an item (fabric, style, everything) that sells so well through other shops. If you are going to make a headband put some thought and creativity into it, try to make it like nothing you’ve seen before.

I totally get how hard it is to be creative in such and already creative established world. Sometimes it may seem like all the creativity has been used up, but let me assure you, there’s always something different you can do if you put your heart and imagination into it. It may be hard and you may get scared and nervous and have second thoughts, you may be worried about what people are going to think, assume they will just hate it, but I can assure you that something truly creative will get good attention and it will be worth it. There will be some who doubt your unique ideas or think they are dumb (those are just the ones who feed off everyone else’s creativity), but there will be even more who applaud your unique creative mind and maybe even purchase your products!

Moral of this crazy rant: Don’t give up on creativity and DO NOT stoop as low as copying other people’s products down to a T. Your creativity will pay off in the end.

Til next time!
